Historical Background:
Clay bricks were used as early as the IV millennium BC in Mesopotamia. In the city of Uruk, walls and temples were predominantly built from bricks, bonded with clay mortar.
In Ancient Egypt, adobe bricks were used for residential houses and utility buildings, while stone was used for temples and tombs. In Babylon, the famous walls and part of the structures were made of fired brick with a glazed surface.
