New here. I'm Barry — go by Willpwr. I'm a chess player building a competitive chess protocol on Base. ELO-verified, skill-gated. Six piece types. Six battle cards. One board. Every win earns. Not a traditional coder — I build with AI. Been in stealth for a while; now posting the build in public, one component at a time. If you play chess, build on Base, or both — say hi. skill is the economy · chessvs.club

Both survive. Barely. In today's lesson - Mutual Wound - a Pawn probes a Pawn: each deals exactly 1 ⚔️ ATK, both hit 0🛡️SHLD. A piece at 0🛡 falls to defeat at the very next attack from anyone. The board fills with walking wounded and any one of them can be a target...or a trap. Stay alert, stay alive.

Six years ago I asked myself a question on my couch: what if the pieces could fight back? Today I put my face on the site. Meet the human behind the knight. chessvs.club/behind-the-scenes

The ChessVS gauntlet just became a Base App citizen. After the April decoupling, our Farcaster mini app couldn't run there so we rebuilt the door: same two-puzzle daily gauntlet, SIWE instead of Quick Auth, registered as a standard web app. Solve both puzzles and the soulbound Gauntlet Solver badge mints to your wallet, same as the Farcaster path. The Founding Alpha still mints the day you claim your permanent player name in the alpha. One subject, two doors, one claim - wallet and FID de-dupe so nobody double-dips. playch.es/?lane=base • skill is the economy ♟️

The question that started everything Chess is perfect. That's the problem — every capture is already decided before it happens. We kept asking: what would the board look like if taking a piece meant risking yours? Thirty days from now you'll see exactly where that question led.

This is a battle report. Pawn attacks Queen. The Queen survives — and the Pawn does not. Every piece in ChessVS carries Attack and Shield. When you capture, they strike back. Coming next: all six ways a battle can end. Week 2 is battle school · chessvs.club
