For public chains, the one with the most rapid TVL growth isn't necessarily the one with the more prosperous or powerful ecosystem. It's really a competition of whose governance token can be pumped harder. Chains that rely on aggressive market-making to drive up the price of their native tokens often find that their application layers can't handle the potential selling pressure. This leads to unsustainable ecosystem development and makes it difficult to form a flywheel effect.
