Great post — Film photography seems like a classic example of friction being an acceptable, even celebrated part of the experience.
I followed the minimalist movement a while back when it was big in the blogosphere but never quite got around to getting rid of much. Travel kind of scratches that itch for me — a chance to live that lifestyle, just on a temporary basis.
