Will the classical music industry be affected positively if Vivaldi's Four Seasons are to be considered as pop music?
I would consider Vivaldi's Four Seasons as “classical pops" as distinct from “pop music". The only way The Four Seasons could be considered as “pop music" would be if it were given a “crossover" treatment whereby lyrics were added and it were “rejigged" to sound like pop music… guitars and crap singing (pop music is invariably sung). It may already have been, for all I know.
If so, it would be positively affected, though I am not sure if all Vivaldi afficionados would be pleased. Would you? Rachmaninov‘s Second Piano Concerto was “popified" here to success:
