Qiyang, Yongzhou｜A small town with a small but underrated treasure
One hour’s high-speed rail ride from Changsha is the small town of Qiyang under Yongzhou. As the place where literati from all dynasties were exiled to Lingnan, many immortal calligraphy works were left on both sides of the Xiangjiang River. Yan Zhenqing carved the Ode to the Restoration of the Tang Dynasty, and Mi Di worshipped the stone here. The Wenchang Ancient Pagoda and the Xiaoxiang Tower, a combination of Chinese and Western architecture in the Republic of China, and the resort hotel on the top of the 100-acre tea mountain. You must come to Qiyang once to experience the slow life in southern Hunan.
