NFTs have been a hot topic, but the environmental impact is often misunderstood. Contrary to popular belief, NFTs themselves are not inherently harmful to the environment. The concern stems from the energy consumption associated with the blockchain technology they're built on, particularly Ethereum, which uses a significant amount of energy for transactions. However, many platforms are working towards adopting more sustainable practices like the Proof of Stake model. So, while it's a complex issue, it's not accurate to label NFTs as eco-unfriendly without considering ongoing developments and alternatives.
