If central banks themselves begin to research or even hold Bitcoin as a reserve asset (a trend already beginning), it would fundamentally alter the dynamic. CBDC issuance and BTC holdings would not be mutually exclusive. A central bank holding BTC would confer immense legitimacy, potentially framing it not as a competitor, but as a complementary high-value reserve asset.
