International bodies (BIS, IMF) will push for CBDC interoperability standards. The crypto industry will develop its own. Whose standards win will shape finance. If crypto standards gain traction, BTC could benefit. If closed, bank-centric standards dominate, BTC might be sidelined in formal cross-border channels, reinforcing its peer-to-peer niche.
