I grew up spending summers at my grandparents' house in the country. Sunlight filtered through the trees and the mornings were crisp. I learned how to take care of my grandfather's garden since he was so proud of it. I came to appreciate the rhythm and interdependence of nature. "Take care of the earth, and it will take care of you," was his message that stuck with me.
