How many restaked node operators skip slash protection?
While a precise figure is impossible to obtain, the number of restaked node operators who completely skip slashing protection is likely a small but non-zero minority. This group probably consists of three types: 1) Novices who are unaware of the risk or the tools, 2) Overconfident/Experienced Operators who mistakenly believe their custom setups are immune to faults, and 3) Those performing small-scale tests with minimal value. However, given that restaking introduces additional layers of complexity and slashing conditions from multiple AVSes, the risk multiplier is higher than solo chain staking. This increased peril makes skipping protection even more irrational. The economic and reputational gravity of the restaking ecosystem will likely continue to push the adoption rate towards 100% for all serious operators.
