If you set up and maintain Snapchain nodes, check out these two tools: - sc-mon is the simples way to quickly check your node's sync status. - snapdown is a snapshot downloader that gives you more control (and it's faster than using the default snapshot download) https://github.com/vrypan/sc-mon https://github.com/vrypan/snapdown

Since when is @frontend the creator of the Farcaster reward mini app? Is this a bug? Are you seeing the same thing, or is it just me? @linda @deodad @horsefacts.eth 😅

ῥήτωρ (rhḗtōr), means "public speaker" in Ancient Greek. It's where the term "rhetorical question" comes from: A question that doesn't need an answer, or one that the answer is given by the speaker. - Is this really a problem? No, and I'll tell you why. - Isn't this weather beautiful? However, sometimes a rhetorical question is a statement disguised as a question. We are so familiar with the form, that "After listening all this, how is it possible to say that the man is not guilty?" implies that the answer is obvious -even if it's not. In text-based social media where context is limited, and the communication bandwidth is even more limited, it is often hard to decide if a question is an actual question or a statement discussed as a rhetorical question. Please don't use questions when you want to make a statement, it's not cute and it often leads to misunderstandings.

I can't put my finger on the exact changes, but Farcaster web feels much nicer.

We went shopping for running shoes with my daughter (14). So, what does the geek dad have to say, looking at a display with 10s of sports shoes of all types and brands? Me: You know, New Balance was Steve Jobs' favorite shoes. [pause] Her: That's a weird thing to know. She's right, but 🤷 https://www.complex.com/sneakers/a/brendan-dunne/steve-jobs-new-balance-992-sneakers-dad-shoes

Sorry, you announced something cool, and I'm complaining for my own, not related to the announcement, pain points. Improving vertical video is great. :-)

Worth noting that lightpens can only work with CRT displays, because they actually "see" the scanning ray, the moment it passed from the pixel the lightpen was looking.

Configure starship to show weather. 1. save the `weather.sh` script somewhere in your `$PATH`. 2. Update `~/.config/starship.toml` (or wherever your starship config is saved)

Why doesn't Farcaster use OAuth 2.0 like other social platforms? Farcaster is built on a decentralized architecture whereas OAuth is build to establish trust between 3 separate parties. Breaking this down: - in Farcaster users own their identity and authenticate via a cryptographic signature without an intermediary; in OAuth a centralized services own the identity and a user has to request that 1st party authenticate them to the 3rd party app for devs: SIWF / Quick Auth = OAuth Sign In - in Farcaster the data is public and replicated, anyone can permissionlessly access the data via the Snapchain network; in OAuth your data is controlled by a single entity and applications need to request permissions to access to data, subject to the platforms approvals and limits (e.g. X charges $5k+++ for data access) for devs: Snapchain / infra providers like Neynar = OAuth APIs accessible with a Bearer token
