If you are a developer using snapchain regularly, it is worth considering setting up your own local node. Queries to a local node are really fast. For probably less than $250 you can get a RaspberryPi5 (16GB, it's important), with an internal 1TB SSD (+SD, PSU, etc). It won't be able to support thousands of clients making requests simultaneously, but it's more than enough for any dev, or data analyst.

My setup. I went for 4TB, to have room for other things too, but 1TB is enough (current snapchain db is ~350GB, you will also need ~160GB during the installation for the snapshot download, so, unless we have exponential FC growth, 1TB is fine). https://farcaster.xyz/vrypan.eth/0xd52f185f

I like this, will have a look, I already an Asustor NAS with 4Tb, would that work as well? Currently it’s mainly there as a Plex server + local Time Machine for our Macs + data storage.
