@zinger is an absolute degen trader, and for those who think he’s using FC users as exit liquidity should make research on his past trades on “not disclosed wallets” of his which you can find from his past PnL screenshots if you are motivated enough. He has both earned and lost lots of money trading narratives. He has been here for a long time. Idk what’s his net, but if not him teaching about narratives, then idk who tf else can.

Thoughts about Farcaster: - Good start: Geeks all around, exploring the decentralized* network -> highly connected soup of web3 founders. - Soup becomes too “foundery”, there’s no “fun” part, need to get the “content” in here. TL is more of an advertisement board full of shitty products. - Hand-led Big Content creators are brought here, but can’t get stuck as the audience is small/wrong, no positive feedback loop -> churn. - Some native content creators become known, but many just do crap content which is boosted by algo to favor them. competitor-apps based content expectations are high and not satisfied properly. FYP is boring. - “Ight, crypto it is”: Warplet. Trading. Clanker. Fails: - Early users thinking it’s the “web3 linkedin” and that it only makes sense to yap about about products. - Web2-expansion: I have other apps for that. - Boosts: sacrificed too much space in FYP, rarely interesting (wow I got boosted! - noone cares - that cast gets boosted). - Loss of “my cozy corner” feeling. Successes: - People developing daily habits, hosting a place for them to connect - Frames (creativity-aligned), Mini-Apps (those that managed to keep the same creativity) as unique FC feature - Warps (although deleted) felt like superlikes. Unfortunately deprecated. - Decentralization alignment. Marketing strategy on X has been something like “people make money on Farcaster”. Seems like current alignment is a bet to educate FC traders to actually make money and not to loose less to actors outside of FC. Basically cabal formation happens here. I appreciate and like that. However, that might be a wrongly timed bet. Volumes are far smaller than they have been, Clanker has transformed, Uneducated Liquidity had been drained. Feels like an attempt to educate people now is like - “Let’s have another try, but we will try to help this time”. That would have had much more sense a year ago, but the network hasn’t been showing the stagnation back then, sentiment around such trading was low and considered to be not right, somewhat unethical. I did not come here to make money - I came to make interesting friends and communicate with them - to do something that would be much harder on X, as if this network isn’t that mature and overcrowded. Making money is a nice bonus that comes with it. I catch myself coming less often to FC now, you know, just checking how my good old purple app feels like now. For me something like Farcaster Rewind would be useful, to fast-read all the drama that was happening during my absence. This network is a village and I like it being that way. I truly saw this as a web3 sillicon valley, and hope to come back once and have this feeling back again.

Instead of PvPing each other here, we should think more of CCIP token launchers to deploy liquidity across multiple chains. Base and Solana has clearly different audiences who would love to dunk on each other. As long as two sides believe in outperformance of each other, those trading who feel themselves attached to their big community are gonna fight for it. Think of it as Liquidity War. I believe it’s gonna happen soon.
