Genesis began distributing about $4 billion to creditors
Failed crypto lender Genesis has completed its restructuring process. The company is beginning to distribute approximately $4 billion in digital assets and cash to its creditors.
Genesis “does not seek to limit compensation to the value of assets on the date of filing” for bankruptcy, according to a press release. It also said that as part of the initial distribution, customers will receive an average of 64% of refunds in kind. The final volume depends on the specific asset.
In the case of Bitcoin, creditors will be paid compensation in the amount of 51.28%. Customers who are due to receive Ethereum can expect to receive 65.87% of their assets back.
