"Whistler's Mother" (1871) is a famous oil painting by James McNeill Whistler, depicting his mother Anna. The painting measures 56.81 x 63.94 inches and is displayed in a custom frame designed by Whistler. It's held at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris and is considered an American icon and one of the most famous works by an American artist outside the US.
