## 😎 Semaphore is a zero-knowledge protocol that allows users to prove their membership in a group and send signals such as votes or text messages without revealing their identities. There are three main parts: identities, groups and proofs. The groups are Incremental Merkle Trees and the proofs are Groth16 proofs.

There are many proving systems and I think they will get better and better and there will be new ones in the future. I like proving systems that can be used in real life, and I think the preferred proving system depends on the project needs. Right now, I like Groth16 for zk apps/dapps.
