I'm noticing lots of people with both the opinion "I don't think I could work under a boss" and "hierarchies are efficient". But there's a tension between these two. Efficiency properly understood isn't output per man-hour, it's output per unit unpleasantness. That follows from standard econ definitions of efficiency.
Convex mindset be like: So you say that it's HEALTHY to drink WATER? Well, if you take that idea to its LOGICAL CONCLUSION, you end up essentially advocating for people to put a GARDEN HOSE down their throats and pour WATER in until they're DEAD. So maybe this WATER thing ISN'T SO WISE AFTER ALL.
Listening to music during runs is... so OP. My run today was pretty sluggish relative to my usual numbers and I somehow couldn't push myself to go any faster, and then I finished the podcast (mike+dom on eth2 roadmap) and started listening to the right song and I pretty much immediately just sped up by like 15%.
The skiff situation is a good reminder of why decentralized ecosystems are so valuable. Challenge question @dwr @v : how far along is Farcaster in this regard? If hypothetically your team got acquihired by Facebook (or Tencent, or...) tomorrow, how well would the ecosystem be able to keep going?
