I love @dwr.eth and co, but I'd rather hold off until we have something that is end-to-end encrypted. I also think that to get ecosystem-wide adoption, it should be federated, someone using one messenger should be able to talk to people using other messengers.

Pls see @xmtp @shanemac.eth that I previously mentioned in private especially your second point. Message portability already exists across XMTP clients and eventually inside apps too. Thatโ€™s a big aha.

It is all messaging protocols anyway right? A universal standard messaging protocol thatโ€™s end to end encrypted should be easy to build, itโ€™s getting everyone to agree on the fork ;)
