Bought my standard drink at starbucks (hot venti green tea) in Switzerland. Cost was 6.20 CHF. In 2014 it was 5.60 CHF. 11% price increase in 11 years = 1% annual inflation. Impressive job 🇨🇭!

The 1% inflation metric is good but the tea costs 42% more than in NYC (US $7.51 vs $5.28)

I remember when it was $3 (and they did not try to throw 22% tips in your face)

Sorry, and with all due respect, but why would you buy a Green Tea in Starbucks? With so many Hōjicha available elsewhere and much cheaper. Forget about inflation (which is truly impressive, gotta admit).

because there was a starbucks nearby and there was no houjicha place nearby

There are no such places. Are there? I would order a large bag and just prepare at home, tbh.

Zurich the city has it, but the airport does not, at least according to both google maps and AI.

How do you usually pay for these things, vitalik? Fiat or some sort of crypto payment?

I guess 1% price index change is a good metric, in comparison to some other fiat monies, the less printing the better. Yet the main problem with inflation is not about changing the price tags or even hidden saving tax - the question here is who gets the newly minted money before others?
