Cultural difference between US and China is still ~4x larger than cultural difference between generations (30y). But I predict that as progress accelerates and the world becomes more interconnected, this will flip, which will have surprising consequences and implications. (eg. longevity tech as cultural preservation)

I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on longevity tech. IMO, many of the world's problems stem from the entrenched gerontocracy. Wouldn't tech keeping these corpses alive even longer create even more problems?

This is a fascinating observation, and I think you’re touching on a dynamic that could reshape not only geopolitics but also how we think about identity. Right now, national borders still act as strong cultural containers, but as connectivity accelerates, digital communities and cross-border value systems could end up creating deeper divides within nations than between them. That inversion could mean that generational, ideological, or even tech-driven subcultures become the dominant fault lines. Your point about longevity tech as cultural preservation is especially interesting—if life spans extend significantly, older generations might retain influence far longer, potentially slowing or reshaping cultural shifts. That could either preserve diversity or create tension if younger generations push for faster change.
