Emojis and memes can be viewed as English evolving into being a more pictographic language. One recent development l've been noticing is that we now even have chengyu. Chengyu in Chinese are usually sequences of four Chinese characters that have a much more complex deep meaning, because they point to a well-known story. Today in English twitter, we see the picture of a leopard below. This is a reference to a tweet from 2015 (x.com/Cavalorn/sta...) saying: > 'I never thought leopards would eat MY face,' sobs woman who voted for the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party. This tweet has become a famous meme and is commonly used to talk about the situation of someone voting for or supporting some aggressive group because they think that they won't be the target, and turning out wrong. It's so famous that to make a pointer to the situation, today, you just have to show a picture of a threatening-looking leopard.
I appreciate people's vigilance on this important topic š
I love how you can see the entire range of ways to mix 1000 and 1024 dealing with files on linux: * Browser downloading usually gives you bytes ("1.073 GB") * du -s and other utilities give you KiB ("1048576 KiB") * Some download trackers give you MiB ("1024 MiB") * File managers give you GiB ("1.00 GiB")
My rough math based on average difficulty stats suggests that Bitcoin mining crossed the total 2**96 hashes milestone very recently? ā¢.. Seems like a good reason to insist on (close to) 128 bit security (ie. drakefjustin was right)
