Eyes on Giro d’Italia 🇮🇹 Stage 11 live… Yesterday’s TT gave this Giro a very different look. Jonas Vingegaard came close… but not close enough to take the Maglia Rosa. Meanwhile, the GC gaps opened much more than many expected. And of course… we also got one of the most Giro moments possible, with Lorenzo Milesi accidentally riding his TT wearing the cooling ice vest 😅 Today feels very different. A rolling stage, constant up and down on Ligurian roads and terrain that screams breakaway opportunity. The race is already fully on. Big fight from the first kilometers to make the move, with a strong group now up the road featuring several dangerous names for the stage. Bahrain Victorious is trying to protect Afonso Eulálio’s sixth day in pink in the meantime, with eventual drafting by Ineos. At this point, I really feel the stage winner is up there in the break. Eyes on Giro d’Italia 🇮🇹 Stage 10 live… Back after the rest day, and straight into the Giro’s only individual time trial. A completely different challenge today. No team tactics, no drafting, no way to hide for the GC riders... only there has only been some controversy surrounding Vingegaard’s KOM (King of the Mountain) skinsuit, which he is required to wear as the current leader of this classification in this Giro; and his team has complained that it does not match the official Visma jersey performance and that this could put him at a disadvantage in the time trial. In any case, given his current form, he’ll likely take the lead today in the pink jersey. The clear favorite to win today, is the Italian, Filippo Ganna, who has already finished his race and set the fastest time. Photo by Zac Williams
