When will the altseason start?
Currently, there is no universal timer, but historically, the altseason begins when three factors combine:
1.Bitcoin dominance drops below around 40-42%
When BTC’s share of the total crypto market decreases, investors move some capital into altcoins.
2.Bitcoin price stabilizes or grows slightly without sharp spikes
After a strong rally, Bitcoin enters a consolidation phase-large holders take profits while smaller investors seek higher returns in alts.
3.Increase in volume and interest in DeFi/NFT/GameFi
Successful airdrops, launches of new projects, and hype on social media attract funds to the altcoin segment.
Right now, BTC dominance is around 43-45%. If in the next 2-3 weeks it falls below 42% with a sideways price movement, an active altseason phase can be expected in September-October. Watch metrics on CoinGecko or Glassnode and news feeds-alt peaks often coincide with hype waves around specific themes (DeFi releases, Layer 2 solutions, Web3 games).
