Big Macro Day Ahead – Why January 9, 2026 Could Be Volatile for Crypto ?
Two major US events today could shake things up across markets, including #Bitcoin and #Altcoins:
First up: The US Supreme Court may rule on the legality of President Trump's sweeping #Tariffs (potential announcement around 10 AM) Prediction markets are pricing in only ~23-27% chance the tariffs get upheld. If the Court strikes them down: Uncertainty rises (possible refunds of hundreds of billions in collected duties)
Markets might reprice the "tariff support" narrative negatively
Risk assets could see short-term pressure
Second: The all-important December 2025 jobs report at 8:30 AM ET. Consensus forecast: ~73,000 jobs added, unemployment ticking down to 4.5%. Hotter-than-expected → Recession fears ease, but Fed rate cuts get pushed further out .
Weaker-than-expected → Recession narrative strengthens → also bad for #crypto
Bottom line: No clear "good" outcome today — both extremes could trigger swings.
