Miners adopting immersion cooling technology have cut energy consumption by 14%, and those co-locating with power generation facilities have secured more stable and affordable energy supplies. Some have even repurposed excess heat for agriculture or industrial use to create additional revenue streams. Additionally, many large miners are branching into AI and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. However, these strategies require substantial upfront investment—high-end mining hardware still costs $2,000 to $20,000 per unit—blocking small miners. Currently, AI/HPC-related income cannot compensate for the sharp decline in Bitcoin mining revenue, so while these moves slow ROI erosion for large players, they do not reverse the negative trend, leaving the overall mining ROI outlook moderately pessimistic.
