Life after tokens 🤔 Tokens are like economic assembly language that keeps trying to put on makeup and thrust itself into user space environments. Imagine if you were trying to use a painting program and it kept interrupting brushstrokes with requests for permission to use particular opcodes or low-level kernels. Why are we even trying to put a UX on this layer that is begging to be fully hidden. When I use my Mac, I might very rarely pull up the system monitor if things get laggy, to check if a particular app is hogging memory/cpu and needs to be forced to shutdown. That’s it. Rare, exceptional abstraction leaks when the compute resources macroeconomy on laptop acts up. The wallet is a bad UX metaphor because it’s at the wrong level. Once we get lots of onchain agents going and spending resources at rates too low to meter at human level, we should have a “system monitor” type metaphor. You only look at if a discrete payment breaks a limit or rate limits/reserve limits are triggered.
