If it were any other BDFL or big CEO I’d object. But Ethereum almost doesn’t work if Vitalik doesn’t operate this way. That he exercises huge moral authority behind his takes is a stress test of the de facto decentralization ruggedness. Any half-assed architecture can handle ordinary levels of dissent. It takes Ethereum to let even big whales to live relatively normal lives without constant noblesse oblige or speaking for orgs/tribes rather than themselves. Vitalik takes are stress tests of cultural resilience.
