Residual connections
Deep neural networks can become difficult to optimize as layers accumulate.
Residual connections solve part of this by giving information a direct path forward:
input → transformation → + input
Engineering systems need the same pattern.
When adding complexity, preserve a stable path to the original behavior.
New layer fails?
The baseline still works.
Good architecture doesn't just add capability.
It preserves a safe path through change.
