People often talk about decentralization, but @base.base.eth still hasn’t reached Stage 1. To get there, it must complete several key technical requirements that ensure real security, neutrality, and trustlessness.
Base still needs to:
Allow permissionless validation so anyone can run a validator without Coinbase’s approval.
Decentralize the sequencer, enabling multiple independent operators to join and produce blocks.
Activate a live fault-proof system, allowing anyone to challenge incorrect L2 state on Ethereum.
Support multiple open-source proof implementations, preventing monopoly control by a single prover.
Guarantee open data availability by making all call data accessible on Ethereum for independent verification.
