I'm making a game boy emulator in c compiled to wasm and rendered in the browser. Here's the CPU state after running a small program to copy 1 tile from ROM to VRAM. The graphics aren't quite right yet (it should render the Nintendo logo over a blank screen lol).
This one is a little older, but I think it's cute. I did a MCU bootcamp a few months ago and one of labs was about drawing a cross shape on the screen. Once I had it drawing pixels though it was very hard to resist making a little dungeon crawler...
Flying blind was becoming impractical so I've implemented stepping through and disassembling the instructions. It also loads a ROM now, it's loading my first game boy project: Ark.
Yeah, it's not an easy thing. It's a whole suite of interconnected behaviours and intuitions. I love "hold the elevator door open" as opposed to "close that elevator door we gotta go!"
