🇺🇸 Senator Cynthia Lummis OFFICIALLY introduced a bill allowing the US to store Bitcoin. Content includes: - Establish a decentralized network to store Bitcoin operated by the US Department of Treasury. - Implement a program to buy 200,000 BTC per year for 5 years to reach 5% of the total Bitcoin supply (~1M BTC), all of which will be HODL for at least 20 years 👀 - The Federal Reserve System and the Treasury Department will use existing funds to fund the BTC purchase program mentioned above. - Publish a third-party audited quarterly report on total Bitcoin assets. - Confirming the protection of each individual's right to own and self-manage BTC. She is very bullish which is good news for the market. However, in 2022 she also proposed that the FED store Bitcoin but it is not yet feasible. The new bill will have to wait until after the next election to be seriously considered by the National Assembly.
