Rocket Pool is approaching the release of its next major protocol upgrade: Saturn.
Saturn focuses on improving capital efficiency and flexibility for node operators while maintaining Rocket Pool’s permissionless and trust-minimised design. Some of the key protocol-level changes include:
Reduced ETH bond requirement for new minipools (moving from 8 ETH to 4 ETH), lowering the barrier to entry for node operators
Improved capital efficiency for both node operators and rETH holders
Protocol enhancements and refinements informed by several years of mainnet operation
Currently in the final stages of auditing by multiple independent security firms
For node operators and solo stakers interested in hybrid or pooled staking models, Saturn represents a meaningful evolution of Rocket Pool’s architecture.
