Before the match, Amorim told Casemiro that this was the Champions League final and he was playing for Real Madrid. Before Raisa's goal, he was absolutely sure of it. Based on the results of the entire match, he is still probably sure. Manchester United is a prickly team in which you can give up territory and counterattack. Amorim saves its best matches for games against the top 2.

Don't call this great match management by Slot. Liverpool's solid currency was mere copper today. But let's not call it sheer luck either. Getting out of such a storm even with a 0-0 draw would have been an achievement of a championship-caliber team. This wasn't a final. And a championship team is allowed one such match per season. There won't be a second. It's worth noting that in the second half, Paris' onslaught was no longer as magnificent. And yes, everyone forgets this—myself included—but the goalkeeper is a player too.

Saudi Arabia. Neymar is out with his ACL injury, but not yet ready to return onto the field-the earliest this might happen is in November. My God, how scary. Was it really worth it? Why did he turn his back on his Qatari brothers? Are the Saudis now closer to him?

Pochettino always seemed like a rigid coach whose "Tottenham" struggled in the most important matches, despite overall progress. However, he bravely accepted "Chelsea's" offer, worked in complete chaos, revitalized the team in the spring, and managed to achieve at least some results. And then he was simply traded for a new project (rumor has it that Boehly was against letting Pochettino go). I still feel sorry about it. So, I wish Pochettino wins the Premier League with the US national team.

Matches in which the Dutch national team takes part are usually spectacular. That's terrific, but they would be even more enjoyable to watch if one didn't know that they would make certain mistakes in defense. It is not characteristic for the team headed by Koeman: since the very foundation of football, the Netherlands has been giving away goals as cheaply as possible. That's the group's charm that is able to achieve greatness only to undermine it with a blunder right there and then. But, if you've been watching football long enough, it makes them somewhat predictable.
