Is there safe leverage for inexperienced operators?
For inexperienced operators, the only truly "safe" leverage is 1x (no leverage at all). Restaking introduces complex, non-financial risks (slashing due to technical faults) that are unfamiliar to most users. Adding leverage on top of this multiplies the complexity and consequences of error. Inexperienced operators are less likely to:
Adequately diversify their AVS commitments.
Understand the correlation between different slashing conditions.
Maintain robust operational security for their validators.
Actively manage their loan health during market volatility.
For them, even 1.5x leverage introduces a high risk of a total loss from a combination of operational mistakes and market moves that a seasoned operator might navigate. Education and experience should precede the use of leverage.
