The Myth of the L2 Island 🏝️ Most L2s (Arbitrum, Solana, Polygon) are fighting to be the only chain. Base took a different path. They didn't build a silo. They joined a Federation. Base is built on the OP Stack, creating a standardized "Internet of Chains" alongside Optimism, Zora, and Mode.
The Business Model: -"Law of the Code Base doesn't just use" Optimism's code for free. They pay for it. The Deal: Base contributes either 2.5% of Total Revenue or 15% of Net Profit (whichever is higher) to the Optimism Collective.
Why? To fund public goods and core dev.
Result: Base success = Optimism success. Incentives are 100% aligned.
The "Interchain" End-Game Right now, bridging between L2s sucks (7-day withdrawals or trusted bridges). The Superchain fixes this with Atomic Composability.
Vision: In the future, moving USDC from Base to Zora will happen in 1 block.
It won't feel like Bridging ,It will just feel like Traning .
