The Joy of Returning Books
Returning books to the library might seem like a chore, but I’ve learned to treat it as a small ritual. It’s a moment to say goodbye to a story, to imagine the next person who’ll take it home, and to browse for my next adventure.
Last week, as I returned a mystery novel, I overheard a boy returning a fantasy book and telling the librarian, “It was so good I didn’t want it to end.” I smiled, knowing exactly how that feels.
