First, understand what normal encryption is. Normal encryption is what we usually see in HTTPS or WhatsApp. → Data gets encrypted → goes to the server → gets decrypted → calculations happen → then the result is encrypted again and sent back. The problem is: Until the data is decrypted, nothing can be done on it. Which means the server can see your data. For example, WhatsApp gives encryption, but WhatsApp itself CAN read all your chats once they are decrypted on their backend systems. So our privacy is basically just a name. But here, @zama is a game-changer. In FHE (Fully Homomorphic Encryption), we can directly perform calculations on encrypted data without decrypting it. Even the result stays encrypted. Only the final user can decrypt it. Meaning your data always stays with YOU, and only you can see it. -----------
