I love the optimism but there’s so many layers. I feel like the deeper you go, the harder it gets to square the philosophy with the current meta

Agreed, though it's a handicap to strive for βš–οΈ in an open market with those who are striving for πŸ“ˆ. Not impossible, and it could even be a competitive advantage if your customers are values aligned, but it's definitely _kinda out there, man_

I'm not religious, but a lot of what Buddhism teaches tends to resonate with me; suffering as a result of desire/attachment, the impermanence of things (including people), the promotion of goodwill and compassion. I can't help but think that modern society is diametrically opposed to those values, though. Is it possible to adhere to a philosophy that essentially teaches you to reject wanting? Craving/wanting is like the main thing the current system is built around.

I’d recommend cycling and running. Best part is that sometimes, the solution to a coding problem just slaps you in the face while you’re on a run/ride

I can't think of a single project I've gone into in the past few years that was using CSS modules. It's overwhelmingly Tailwind, and sometimes some UI library like Chakra or MUI Personal experience, though. Can't say whether that's true of the industry as a whole

Nvm, I got it. Yeah dude, agreed. I’ll reach for shadcn for that, which is Tailwind but I don’t mind if it’s essentially just styling someone else’s component library. Maintaining a component library that uses tailwind has a bunch of problems though. And if I was building a component library from scratch, I’d just reach for CSS modules. No conflicts with the consumer, I know CSS better than tailwind, and honestly I feel like you I worse markup with tailwind. It makes it easy to be lazy.

Fwiw, I feel like there might be a better solution than useMemo to fix this. Happy to help brainstorm a bit if you want
