established social networks, once hailed as connectivity utopias, have morphed into battlegrounds for privacy and truth, revealing the double-edged sword of our digital personas. i love it that farcaster is young enough that i, at least, don't see the issue here, yet.

this is not unique to blockchain, but rather to open source. the incentive system is utility, in perhaps a more successful model, up till now, than blockchain. what would be the example of "handing over control"?
trustworthiness shortcut is alignment on core values. it's not foolproof, but many times you can set initial expectations based on how close that alignment is. also, same core values helps build communal trust, and conversely how the community reacts to breach of trust.
