I used to have an aversion to the color brown and I certainly didn't like brown and purple together. But age and gardening have made me appreciate the combo. The first pic is lovely aster blooms against our brown deck. The second is a fall garden flag I designed. I've also seen some lovely quilting fabrics that use have purple and brown or eggplant and brown as part of their color theme.
