Haha lucky escape. Must have been cool to have a v-dub. I rented a van during travels once (not a vw though) and loved it.

I believe they were discontinued in the 90’s. Fun side story, I took travelers checks from the people who bought my VW. When I went back in the house, the news was reporting a travelers check counterfeit ring. I was panicked for a few days waiting to confirm mine were ok 😂
