Yes! Exactly! I think that's a big missing piece w/ all this futarchy/prediction market style voting & governance. It's only effective if it attracts highly educated participants. Or participants have to become highly educated. In general, I feel like that is the core mechanism that is driving the experimentation: How do you incentivize and attract/create highly informed individuals to participate in decision making?

Yeah it's really hard. I hate the spammy feel too. Getting people to advocate for you can help with that. If you can get your supporters coordinated to spread the word on your Livestream that might help attract new supporters or remind ppl that meant to contribute. Rule of thumb is that ppl have to see something 3x before they act on it. So you need to reach ppl in 3 different ways (examples): - blasting from your account in public channels - 1:1 outreach - algo boosts from reshares and engagement That's my 5 minute tips!

Donate to @joseacabrerav's crowdfund "Plane Ticket for Music" I am Venezuelan, I have been unbanked all my life! I have the opportunity to travel to the United States, to meet some of my online friends IRL and do some music in person! these are the friends who i have improved my learnish from only liking a language to manage to ran podcast and live spaces This is a huge opportunity, at the moment I can cover expenses while I’m traveling, but I really need help covering the travel costs getting to and from the USA, as I have been looking for web3 work the last six months without much luck. If you can help me with any amount towards my travel cost, I would greatly appreciate it & I want to give a special audio NFT to anyone that donates!

This is something that makes me excited for the future of music! Great UX (for what it is so far) simply from the perspective that it was easy to connect my wallet and add the mini app to my shortcuts WHEN I WAS READY πŸ˜† Let's call it Mini-Manners. Let people safely explore before demanding we let you into our circle of trust. Now let's see if I can find some music...

I think it requires stepping back and addressing the governance process as a whole. Multiple proposals are necessary when the prompt is identifying a problem and sourcing solutions, rather than problem&solution all in one, like most governance is now. So the example is: Problem: Eth price isn't going up Proposals: multiple different paths to making eth price go up Process: everyone bets on which proposals will result in eth price going up - This only works in situations where you can agree on the problem and the metric to track to verify a solution has been found. Which also becomes its own discovery process.

This is gonna require some focus to respond to. First off, I just want to say that I don't trade and don't want to trade and have no interest in trading. So this concept of scaling out a token launchpad so that billions of tokens can be traded on without adding capital overhead is just nonsense to me. Capital isn't the limiting factor. Appetite for trading is. This is just making the existing capital that traders have more efficient. It's not going to bring in new players. Find a new PMF, this one's washed. That being said, I actually agree with the "quantum" part of this in regards to stake & governance. I've had similar ideas for governance models, and I think it has merit. Just stop trying to turn it into a gambling addiction. Trading and betting on tokens is the least interesting component of any of this.

I agree, we do need a bit of everything in our approach! Here's how I think about the context of these words: - subversion: to change things from within by challenging the core foundational thinking of the status quo. Yes, it destroys, but not with brute force from the outside working in. It's about getting underneath it all and addressing the foundation and letting the change grow from there. Many within the system don't even realize the change is happening until it's over. - disruption: outside>in change. It's about creating a break in continuity to force an existing system to stop so that a new system can start in its place. It's very loud and in everyone's face. I think both have their place in revolutions as well as evolutions. - revolution: the act of rejecting a system and choosing a new path - evolution: working within a system to adapt it to new conditions Either of these can be subversive or disruptive!

The only way to have a thriving channel is to have active moderators surfacing content and promoting it. The only way to sustainably support active moderation is with some kind of incentive or reward. I think it's that simple. Only channels I see doing well are channels with active owners/moderators that have some intrinsic motivation to do so. So my suggestion on reverse engineering /DAOs is that we have to figure out what will motivate leaders to step up and take ownership. Because otherwise we fall back to "revealed behavior", which is currently the comfort zone of a DM group where you're guaranteed to get seen.

I think we moved to the DM group around the same time everyone did. Channels were dying because Dan kept saying they weren't a priority whenever ppl brought up ideas for improvement. It created a very "sinking ship" vibe. The algo doesn't do a very good job of surfacing content and channels never took off because of it. Things get buried and lost if they don't immediately hit escape velocity. The average time to takeoff is something like < 2 hours, I think I read? If it doesn't go by then, it just gets disappeared in the feed. So ppl started using DM groups because it's the only way to ensure every message gets read. So I think it actually makes perfect sense why we moved to the DM group. Everyone moved to DM groups all over Farcaster. It was the whole meta at the time. Now it's just been long enough that our attention span has forgotten and moved on. The reason why we still have a weekly call is because the DM group survived and retained enough ppl to keep it going.

Ok that's what I said too, but thought I'd check just in case. Did an older version of the app support bitwarden passkeys? Just seems odd that he had one in the first place.

I definitely agree with this! Would be very interesting to see where ppl congregate. This is data that we are collecting as a part of our Mood Maps initiative with /nearchos, so perhaps this could be an extension of that research to make the information more accessible!
