i've gotten a few unexpected comments that take my assessment to be neutral or, even that the outcomes are negative
to be clear - i think commoditization here is far and away a positive. two quotes that are appropriate:
"there are only two [operations], bundling and unbundling" Jim Barksdale, netscape CEO (slightly modified). commiditization unbundles state/institution guarantees from their coercive tendencies, smashes them to their atomic forms (public and private keypairs), where they will then be reassembled/orchestrated into novel forms of bio-power. forests which can't periodically burn build up too much dead wood
idk the source but - cryptography's asymmetric benefits to the defender (it costs orders of magnitude more to break encryption than to generate it) is proof that the universe smiles on self-sovereignty / defense
