toby got attacked by an aggressive dog on our trail run this morning 😟

he is fine thankfully but some people truly should not be allowed to own dogs 

if you know your dog is aggressive (or you never take your dog out anywhere and haven’t tested it) then *obviously* don’t let them run around a super busy trail off leash around other dogs and people and children 

esp after they just showed aggression toward another dog (turned out we were not the first ones to be attacked this morning) 

dog needs to go get some training at home and the owner needs to be put on a leash at all times

All so true! Hope Toby recovers physically and emotionally.

I’m so glad that your dog is okay. My pup is loud yet she is so sweet. She is scared of other dogs and even with trying to train her she only can be 1 on 1 with small dog and must be off leash to meet them. 

The last time I brought her to a big dog to meet she barked and he nipped her 😭🫣. It's trial and error and I sadly don’t know her history being a rescue and all.

I still love her and she is getting up there in age now.

we're out trail running all the time and it's never happened to us before until yesterday 😢

pupdate on the tooth situation: 

apparently there are only 5 doggie dentists in the whole state and they’re all extremely booked out so the soonest appointment we were able to get for toby isn’t until july 24

and that’s just for a consultation, not for any procedures (even though we already had a consultation about this with our vet)

after that we would need to schedule an x-ray (a much bigger ordeal for dogs than humans bc they need anesthesia to do an x-ray) to determine if the tooth is infected, and finally the actual extraction or root canal procedure 

in the meantime i guess i’ll just be taking toby to find snow as often as possible so he can ice his toothache 😟
