Released in 2024, "The Revenant" traces its origins back to 2017, when I first began researching Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. While I was initially drawn to the idea of them as digital certificates of authenticity, what fascinated me even more was the persistent chorus of voices declaring that Bitcoin — an inanimate system — was destined to die or become worthless.
This mirrored broader sentiments I had long observed toward digital art itself, a supposed trend. Now inscribed permanently onto Bitcoin as ordinals, the series embraces this tension: it can only truly die if Bitcoin dies.
Each artwork’s title is drawn directly from a public “death instance” — headlines and declarations predicting Bitcoin’s demise — preserving these moments as immutable fragments of doubt and resilience.
