What is the history of lavender? It is widely believed that lavender first appeared in the Mediterranean, the Middle East and India around 2500 years ago . The Egyptians are known to have made perfumes using lavender and when Tutankhamun's tomb was opened, traces of lavender were found and its odour could still be picked up.
