250-300 bucks is about what you’ll pay for a freshly cleaned and common typewriter. But you can pick them up from yard sales and with a little bit of oil and luck you might only spend 50 bucks and get a functioning typewriter and then the ribbon can be replaced for five to $20.
The room is really where you’ll spend more money because the cheaper machines are a little bit bulky or where is a smaller portable that you could keep on a shelf might run you more like 500 bucks
