The atmospheres of Neptune, Uranus and Saturn have such extreme pressure that they can crystallize carbon atoms and turn them into diamonds, according to American Scientist. How does science know this? The researchers were able to create the right conditions in the laboratory and prove that this is happening on Neptune and Uranus. In addition, scientists suggest that up to a thousand tons of diamonds may fall out in some parts of Saturn per year.
