After promising to write more essays a few weeks ago, I immediately started on the next one: a summary of Dorothea Brande's book, "Becoming a Writer." However, in teasing out her ideas around integrating different personalities, I began to realize that the critical voice in my head was not mine—but something else. After multiple rewrites, this strange essay emerged. It's about writing platforms, genius, egregores, and the voices in your head.

Lots to ponder here. The voice in this piece definitely strikes me as different, yet not totally different, from what I've read in your previous essays. I'm not sure what to make of it, but it doesn't sound like you are, either! Also brings to mind the book "A Course in Demonic Creativity" by Matt Cardin that I often recommend...
